A wide grass fire that broke out in Barangay Naalad, City of Naga, Cebu was declared fire out at 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026, after several hours of monitoring by fire authorities.
Based on a fire alarm report, the grass fire was already in progress as of 8:10 p.m. on Friday, May 1. The fire was later seen spreading in a mountainous area of Barangay Naalad at around 10:25 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Naga City Bureau of Fire Protection said that, based on initial reports from firefighters, there were no homes located near the affected area.
The incident involved a wide grass fire in the mountainside portion of the barangay. Authorities have yet to release further details on the cause of the fire and the estimated area affected.
No casualties or damage to houses were immediately reported.
